Colin Polonowski / Swindon, UK
I build dependable websites and help the people behind them do their best work.
An experienced full stack developer and engineering leader, with a background in high-traffic publishing, consultancy and running my own business.
01 / What I do
I bring hands-on technical experience and a practical understanding of what a business needs from its development team.
PHP and Laravel applications, bespoke WordPress themes and plugins, APIs and custom content management systems. Built to be useful today and maintainable tomorrow.
Leading teams, supporting developers and setting technical direction. I work with product, commercial and senior leadership teams to turn priorities into achievable delivery.
Publishing platforms, migrations, monitoring and database optimisation. Keeping busy sites fast and stable while balancing infrastructure costs and long-term platform health.

03 / Beyond the day job
Retro game development is another outlet for the same curiosity that got me into programming.
I enjoy working with older hardware and its constraints: thinking carefully about performance, making the most of limited resources and getting something playable on screen.
Outside development, my interests include film, technology, writing and digital media.
